Letter of Credence for Sons of Perdition

TheDissolutionOrphans 480

This website was quietly launched on March 2, 2014 under great discretion and without any "diplomatic" ceremonies at all. I thought that the website would be unnoticied for at least six months or so before the site was properly indexed and the Google algorithms had start spinning or whatever they do. On March 6, 2014, however, I got an email from Sons of Perdition (Zebulon Whatley). Apparently, the site had been included in his trawl when seeking after reviews of Trinity. He wrote in the email that I was very kind in writing about his "dour music" and asked me if he could send me "The Dissolution Orphans" in advance (it is to be released in May 21, 2014) and finally asked if I was the Ambassador. My reaction was: writing about his music goes without saying, yes and yes. The email from him made me very, very proud and inspires me to further develop and manage the website. I also regard this occurence as a confirmation that it was a correct assessment to start the site. The site could't have had a better and more exiting start. I will almost certainly write a short review of "The Dissolution Orphans". I will however respect the fact that it is to be released May 21, 2014. Sons of Perdition (Zebulon Whatley) has (figuratively speaking) hereby got a Letter of Credence for Sons of Perdition, signed by The Ambassador.

O'death to release their 4th album

Long awaited news from New York-based O'death.

"We are writing songs for our fourth studio album to be recorded in Maine this autumn." (that is 2013, my note)

By the way, O'death celebrated 10 year as a band last year. Well done.

CD with Billy Cook (ex-.357 String Band) arrived today

fof hemma1 ny

The cd "Left To Remember" with mandolin player Billy Cook of former .357 String Band arrived today. Saved the (mon)day. The album was earlier only available digitally. I ordered the cd from Farmageddon Records I must say Billy Cook has really made a great album. Very gifted songwriting, more melodic arrangements than 357 String Band, great mandolin playing (of course) and as a bonus to all hard-core fans of .357 String Band a "new" .357-song "Left To Remember" in furious tempo. .357 String Band planned a fourth album when they suddenly called it quits in late 2011. Some of the material is coming up here, the song "Left To Remember" and in Derek W. Dunns new EP "Poisonous Serpents".

So it begins...

So it begins...

At last, the website is launched. All thanks to my friend, Mikael. Without his skills and support, I would still be at the planning stage and probably remain there. It was not so long ago it all started with a short article at cdrunda. It could have ended there. Since then everything have grown out of proportion multiple of times. Somewhere along the line I reached a point where I consciously or unconsciously began to imagine a website completely dedicated to Gothic Country, Southern Gothic, Gothic Americana, American Gothic, Dark Americana and whatever. Here it is and it has only begun. Enjoy!
